The event was graced by Hon’ble MLA of Chatra Shri Janardan Paswan, Sub-Divisional Officer of Simaria Shri Sunny Raj, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jagdish Prasad, and Zila Parishad Chairperson Smt. Mamta Kumari as special guests.

The program began with the flagging off of two Mobile Medical Unit vans by the Deputy Commissioner from the hospital premises. She also formally inaugurated a Breast Cancer Screening Camp on the occasion.

The Mobile Medical Units and the Breast Cancer Screening Camp are being jointly operated under the aegis of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and the RKHIV Research and Care Center. Through these units, 27 villages in the Tandwa block will have access to essential health services. Residents will benefit from breast cancer thermal screening, TB screening, dengue/malaria tests, and general health check-ups — all free of cost.

Key Features of the Mobile Medical Units

The Mobile Medical Units have been specially designed to deliver comprehensive and quality healthcare services in rural areas. Each unit is staffed with a qualified MBBS doctor, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), a lab technician, a field mobilizer, and a driver.

The units are built on Force Traveller 3350 vehicles, equipped with modern medical instruments. They also include special facilities for breast cancer screening and RT-PCR TB testing. Each unit aims to conduct screening for around 125 women per month for breast cancer, and an equal number for TB testing.

In addition, tests for diabetes, blood grouping, hemoglobin, HIV, and CBC will also be conducted free of cost. For routine examinations, equipment such as BP monitors, glucometers, weighing scales, and thermometers have been provided.

Each unit will serve around 40 patients per day, providing free consultation and prescribed medicines. This initiative will help rural residents receive timely diagnosis and treatment without the need to travel long distances to cities.
