Bokaro Steel Plant celebrates 80th Independence Day

 



Bokaro: Bokaro Steel Plant celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at Mohan Kumar Mangalam Stadium on Saturday. Director-in-Charge Priya Ranjan unfurled the national flag and took the salute of the parade. CISF Deputy Inspector General Jitendra Tiwari, BSL senior officials, CISF personnel, employees, children and a large number of Bokaro residents attended the ceremony.


Addressing the gathering, Priya Ranjan extended Independence Day greetings and highlighted SAIL and BSL’s contribution to nation-building over the past six decades. He said BSL remains committed to business excellence as well as improving township infrastructure, healthcare and community facilities.


He highlighted ongoing work on roads, power supply and residential maintenance. Repairs of several major and arterial roads have been completed, while work on other roads and residential blocks is progressing. Power infrastructure is also being strengthened in phases.


As part of the celebrations, 151 employees received the Birsa Munda Excellence Award, while 54 CISF and BSL security personnel were presented commendation certificates.


After the main ceremony, the Director-in-Charge inaugurated upgraded facilities at Bokaro General Hospital, including a TMT machine, an RO unit for the CCU, a neurosurgical drill and an integrated powered drill and debrider system. He also inaugurated the renovated SAIL Football Academy hostel at the Trainees’ Hostel complex.
