Priya Ranjan assumed charge as Director In-Charge of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on 24 December 2025. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) had recommended his name for the post on 22 August 2025. Prior to this, he was serving as Executive Director (Works) at BSL.
A B.Tech in Metallurgy with a postgraduate diploma in management, Priya Ranjan began his professional journey on 24 September 1994 as a Management Trainee (Technical) at the Steel Melting Shop of IISCO Steel Plant. After serving in various key roles at IISCO for nearly 23 years, he was transferred in October 2017 to SAIL’s Corporate Office in New Delhi, where he contributed in multiple capacities at the Chairman’s Secretariat.
He was promoted to the rank of Executive Director on 15 November 2024 and entrusted with the responsibility of Executive Director (Operations). Following PESB’s recommendation, he was posted to Bokaro Steel Plant as Executive Director (Works) on 26 August 2025.
With over three decades of rich experience, combining strong technical expertise and administrative acumen, Priya Ranjan is set to lead Bokaro Steel Plant’s operations, growth and strategic initiatives, with expectations of further strengthening performance and setting new benchmarks.
