Ranchi, October 19, 2025: In a major breakthrough against rising vehicle thefts, the Ranchi Police have arrested a suspected bike thief and recovered seven stolen two-wheelers from the Kanke area.
According to officials, the arrest was made following a series of complaints about missing motorcycles in and around Kanke. Acting on a tip-off, a special team from the Kanke Police Station conducted an operation that led to the suspect’s apprehension and the recovery of seven stolen vehicles.
“Preliminary investigation suggests the accused has been involved in multiple theft cases across the city,” said a senior police officer. “Efforts are underway to identify the rightful owners of the recovered bikes and to determine whether others were involved in the racket.”
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and further investigation is ongoing.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant, park vehicles in secure and well-lit areas, and promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
