Ranchi: A coalition of student and people's organisations, including the Jharkhand Janadhikar Mahasabha, AISA, RYA and AISF, on Tuesday announced an Assembly March on August 7, demanding action against alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations, reforms in the education system, and timely implementation of student welfare measures.
The announcement was made during a joint press conference held at the AISA office in Ranchi. The organisations appealed to students and youth across Jharkhand to participate in the march, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., describing it as a campaign to safeguard the future of the state's youth.
Addressing the media, Riya Tulika Pingua of the Jharkhand Janadhikar Mahasabha paid tribute to Dishom Guru Shibu Soren with the slogan "Hul Johar." She said the younger generation was continuing the legacy of struggle and people's movements associated with Shibu Soren, A.K. Roy and Binod Bihari Mahato. According to her, the success of the ongoing movement would be the most meaningful tribute to the veteran leader.
AISF State Joint Secretary Afzal Durani demanded the immediate withdrawal of the cluster system in Jharkhand and the release of pending e-Kalyan scholarship funds, stating that delays in scholarship disbursement were adversely affecting students.
AISA State President Vibha Pushpa Deep outlined the movement's key demands, including cancellation of the 14th JPSC Preliminary Examination, implementation of a transparent domicile and recruitment policy, timely release of scholarships, a transparent and accountable examination system in JPSC and JSSC, urgent reforms in the school education system, publication of a recruitment examination calendar with time-bound completion of recruitment processes, and an immediate halt to the cluster system.
AISA National Secretary Triloki Nath said AISA leader Comrade Neha Bora from Delhi would participate in the Assembly March and join the protest. He added that efforts would be made to meet Chief Minister Hemant Soren to submit a memorandum highlighting the concerns of students and youth.
AISA District President Vijay alleged that students across Jharkhand were facing repeated problems, including alleged examination irregularities, question paper leaks, delays in recruitment processes and late declaration of results. He urged the government to introduce comprehensive reforms to ensure transparency, accountability and efficiency in the state's education and recruitment systems.
The participating organisations said they would intensify their agitation if the government failed to take prompt action on the issues raised by students and youth.
