Ranchi: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has urged the Jharkhand government to initiate talks with agitating students and job aspirants while ensuring strict monitoring of the ongoing investigation into the alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) examinations.
In a statement issued on Saturday, CPI(M) Jharkhand State Secretary Prakash Viplav said that media reports have brought to light several alleged irregularities in the 14th Civil Services Preliminary Examination conducted by JPSC.
He said that discrepancies in OMR sheets, the arrest of a candidate accused of clearing the preliminary examination through fraudulent means, and the silence of the former JPSC chairman during questioning have raised serious concerns over the integrity of the recruitment process.
Viplav said that the anger among students and young job aspirants is justified, as allegations of irregularities have repeatedly surfaced in JPSC examinations since the formation of Jharkhand. He noted that former JPSC chairpersons and members had previously faced legal action and imprisonment in connection with alleged examination-related irregularities, while several cases are still pending.
He also referred to the NEET-UG paper leak controversy, saying it had exposed serious shortcomings in the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and had undermined public confidence in the country's competitive examination system.
The CPI(M) leader demanded that the state government closely monitor the ongoing investigations into the alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations and engage in meaningful dialogue with the protesting students and youth to arrive at a fair and transparent resolution.
