Focus on Fee Transparency, RTE Compliance and Student Welfare Reforms
Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha chaired a key review meeting with principals of private schools at the district headquarters on Wednesday, issuing important directives to strengthen transparency, accountability and student welfare in the education system.
Stressing holistic development beyond academics, the DC directed schools to form Welfare Committees to address fee waiver grievances and ensure fair practices. He reiterated strict compliance with the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, particularly in maintaining transparency in admissions under reserved seats.
Schools were instructed to upload book lists and uniform modules at least 15 days before the academic session, conduct regular Parent-Teacher Meetings, and organize structured career counselling sessions for senior students. The DC also emphasized dignified treatment of teaching and non-teaching staff, mandatory registration under government scholarship schemes, and regular awareness workshops on de-addiction, mental health and prevention of sexual harassment.
District Education Officer Jagarnath Lohra and other officials attended the meeting. Representatives from institutions including Delhi Public School Bokaro, Chinmaya Vidyalaya Bokaro, DAV Public School Bokaro, MGM Higher Secondary School Bokaro and Sree Ayyappa Public School Bokaro were present.
The Deputy Commissioner reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to building a transparent, inclusive and quality-driven education framework in the district.
