India Making World-Class Progress in the Field of Urology: Governor

Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar inaugurates the 34th Annual Conference of Jharkhand Urology Society; emphasizes health awareness and expansion of medical facilities

Ranchi (Seraikela-Kharsawan) ::Hon’ble Governor Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar today inaugurated the 34th Annual Conference of the Jharkhand Urology Society (East Zone Chapter of the Urological Society of India) held at HotelWave International, Seraikela-Kharsawan.

Addressing the inaugural session, the Governor said that urology is an extremely important and specialized branch of medical science, which has witnessed remarkable progress in recent years. He expressed happiness that Indian doctors are adopting modern technologies and providing world-class treatment to patients.

The Governor pointed out that the shortage of urologists in small towns and rural areas remains a serious concern. As a result, many patients are forced to travel to big cities for treatment, facing economic, physical, and mental hardships. He

called for collective efforts to ensure the availability of specialist doctors and advanced medical facilities in smaller towns.

Highlighting the growing incidence of health issues such as kidney stones, prostate disorders, and urinary tract infections, the Governor said that people often mistake the pain caused by stones for ordinary discomfort and resort to self-medication, which worsens the condition. He urged citizens to remain health-conscious, take any unusual symptoms seriously, and consult specialist doctors

 in time.

He further emphasized the importance of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, stating that “healthy habits are the foundation of a healthy life.” Referring to the historic initiatives taken under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Governor mentioned the Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Jan Aushadhi Kendras as transformative steps that have proved to be a boon for millions of people across the country.

The Governor remarked that medical science is the highest expression of humanity and that doctors are a source of life and new hope for society. He said such conferences are not only informative and enriching but also make meaningful contributions toward improving public health.

In conclusion, the Hon’ble Governor extended his heartfelt greetings to all citizens of the state on the forthcoming festivals of Dhanteras, Diwali, and Chhath Mahaparv.
