Purulia, Tuesday.
A protest rally and street meeting were organized in Purulia town on Tuesday in response to the alleged demolition of the Language Movement stage. The programme was held under the banner of the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
The rally, led by TMC district secretary Soumen Beltharia, saw participation from local party workers and residents. Participants raised concerns over the reported involvement of the Army in the incident, said to have taken place under BJP’s directive.
During the street meeting, speakers highlighted the importance of safeguarding cultural heritage and democratic values. They also called for greater transparency and accountability regarding the matter.
