DC Reviews Bokaro Airport Development and Security Measures Around Dundibagh Area

Fresh encroachment to invite FIR as meeting stresses monitoring, boundary work and key clearances

Bokaro, March 6: Progress of works related to Bokaro Airport and security arrangements in the surrounding areas were reviewed during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha at the Bokaro Circuit House on Thursday.

During the review, it was decided that any attempt to re-encroach on land cleared near the Dundibagh market area adjoining the airport will lead to direct FIR action. The step aims to ensure that the encroachment-free land remains protected.

Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) management was advised to complete boundary construction of the cleared area within 15 days through slab fencing and place caution boards stating that trespassers will be prosecuted. The meeting also discussed strengthening security arrangements in the Dundibagh area, including the possibility of installing CCTV cameras at important junctions. Chas SDO Pranjal Dhanda was asked to provide an updated list of identified locations.

The review also covered operational requirements for the airport, including renewal of the MoU between the Airports Authority of India and BSL and submission of the application for Consent to Operate to the State Pollution Control Board within the stipulated timeline.

SP Harvinder Singh, DFO Nitish Kumar, Additional Collector M. Mumtaz Ansari, Chas SDO Pranjal Dhanda, Civil Surgeon Dr. A. B. Prasad, AAI representative Manoj Kumar and senior BSL officials were present at the meeting.
