Calls for Discipline, Praises Peaceful Celebrations
Bokaro: Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha visited Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) to review the condition of those injured in the electrocution incident during the Ram Navami procession near Khetko Shiv Temple under Petarwar police station limits. He interacted with doctors, hospital staff, and patients, directing that all injured receive prompt and comprehensive care.
The DC stated that the administration had put in place detailed safety arrangements for the procession. He noted that during the course of the event, some participants moved beyond the designated safety zones, following which the incident occurred. He added that managing large gatherings involves dynamic situations, and conditions on the ground can evolve quickly despite prior planning.
Highlighting the prompt response, Ajay Nath Jha said the injured were first given immediate treatment locally and then shifted to BGH. He appreciated the Police for establishing a green corridor, enabling quick transportation and timely medical care.
He informed that the administration has been closely monitoring the situation, with officials and public representatives present on the ground. Expressing optimism, the DC said most injured are recovering well and are likely to be discharged within 4–5 days.
A formal inquiry has been initiated under the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) to examine adherence to safety protocols by Akhada committees, with a report expected within a week.
Further while interacting with media , the DC commended residents for celebrating Ram Navami, Eid, and Sarhul in a spirit of unity, urging everyone to uphold discipline and dignity during public events. He also congratulated the people of Bokaro for maintaining a largely peaceful festive atmosphere.
