Ranchi: On the 143rd death anniversary of renowned philosopher, economist and revolutionary thinker Karl Marx, a seminar was organized by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at Safdar Hashmi Hall in the party’s state office on Friday. Party workers, intellectuals and representatives of various mass organizations participated in the programme with enthusiasm.

The meeting was chaired by state secretariat member Prafull Linda. On the occasion, Prateek Mishra, Amal Azad, Sudhanshu Shekhar, advocate Gulab Prasad, Kirti Munda, Sameer Das and Kishore Chakraborty, among others, expressed their views.

Speakers highlighted Marx’s contributions to philosophy and political economy and discussed the concept of Historical Materialism, noting that Marx provided a scientific method not only to understand society but also to transform it. They said his ideas continue to inspire struggles against exploitation and injustice across the world.

During the discussion, speakers pointed out that the present capitalist system, which they said is based on the exploitation of labour, continues to generate economic, social and environmental crises.

In such circumstances they said  the relevance of Marxism has increased further.

Prateek Mishra, Amal Azad and Sudhanshu Shekhar emphasized the concept of Class Struggle, stating that the creation of a just, egalitarian and human-centred social order is possible only through organized mass struggles.

Participants including Santosh Prakash, Naveen Chaudhary, Suresh Munda, Prakash Toppo and Ravi Kumar also paid floral tributes to Karl Marx during the programme.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants collectively resolved to intensify efforts to defend the rights of working people, social justice and democratic values. Speakers also called for broader unity among the masses to challenge exploitative systems and strengthen people’s movements.
