Bokaro, 7 October 2025:
Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha chaired a high-level review meeting on Tuesday to assess the progress of works related to the upcoming Bokaro Airport operations. He directed officials to complete all assigned tasks within the fixed timeline and ensure inter-departmental coordination for timely completion.
The DC emphasized clearing of bushes and vegetation from the airport premises by October 15 to maintain clear visibility of the runway and both control towers. A joint inspection by the district administration and police will follow to review visibility conditions.
He ordered the demolition of the encroached Ellora Hostel, with necessary police and magistrate deployment to ensure a peaceful and lawful process. The lighting installation at Satanpur Hill must be completed within 15 days, he added.
Jha also directed that the relocation of Dundibagh slaughterhouses begin by Diwali to remove operational hurdles. Stressing on safety and preparedness, he asked for the procurement of an additional Crash Fire Tender and ambulance, and instructed AAI to begin construction of the airport boundary wall.
The Deputy Commissioner said that all works at the state and district levels must be completed by the first week of November, adding that the launch of Bokaro Airport will mark a significant step toward the district’s economic, industrial, and tourism growth.
