Ranchi: The Janwadi Lekhak Sangh (Jales), Ranchi, organised an online Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan on September 27 from 7 pm to 9 pm. The programme was chaired by Dr Kiran Nishant and conducted by Aparajita Mishra. Poets and shayars presented their works in Hindi, Urdu, Nagpuri, Kharia and other regional languages, highlighting Jharkhand’s rich multilingual and multicultural literary tradition.
The programme began with a Nagpuri poem by Dr Alamara, who portrayed the fairs, markets and folk-cultural activities associated with the month of Kartik. Dr Ashraf Ali presented the contemporary poem “Chacha Ji Mere Mister Compromised”, while Veena Srivastava recited “Agar Main Bolungi To Vivad Ho Jayega”. Ramdev Badaik used Nagpuri poetry to portray wedding traditions, invitations and community life.
Samiullah Khan presented the couplet, “Bahut Hi Sochkar Humne Uthaya Tha Kadam, Wahi Raqeeb Nikla Jo Tha Apna Sanam.” Moziuddin Mirdaha expressed patriotic sentiments through “Mor Desh Mahan”. Kumar Vijayendra presented “Bhadra Jan, Ye Wahi Jagah Hai” and “Aao Hum Delhi-Delhi Khelen”. Aparajita Mishra presented poems including “Andhere Mein Kaun Hai”, “Ji, Main Desh Ka Yuva” and “Chulhe Garibi Mein Jalna Bhool Gaye Hain”, focusing on contemporary social concerns.
Rita Soren presented a Hindi translation of a Kharia poem titled “Aaiye Kabhi Hamare Adivasiyon Ke Ghar”. Dr Kiran Nishant presented poems reflecting on women’s emancipation and identity. Uzair Alam presented the Urdu qata “Urdu Hamari Maa Hai, Hindi Hai Hamari Khala”, reflecting the spirit of Ganga-Jamuni culture. Uttam Kumar also presented his composition.
In her concluding presidential address, Dr Kiran Nishant highlighted the social role of literature and the need for dialogue among different languages. Veena Srivastava, Moziuddin Mirdaha, Sudhir Pal, Sukeshi Karmakar, M. Z. Khan, Kumar Vijayendra, Samiullah Khan, Uttam Kumar, Ramdev Badaik, Firdaus Jahan, Avinash Kumar, Rita Soren, Imran Alam, Dr Alamara and Dr Ashraf Ali were among the writers and poets who participated in the programme.
The organisers said the multilingual literary gathering aimed to promote dialogue and strengthen the shared literary and cultural heritage of Jharkhand’s diverse linguistic communities.
