Jharkhand Government Initiative: Free NEET–JEE Coaching for Tribal Students

Ranchi :: The Jharkhand government has taken a historic step to promote higher education among meritorious students from Scheduled Tribe communities. In collaboration with Motion Education Institute, Kota’s renowned coaching organization, the state will now provide free coaching for NEET and JEE aspirants within Jharkhand itself. The coaching classes will be conducted at the Welfare Department’s building located in Hindpiri, Ranchi.

The Department of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes Welfare has been entrusted with the responsibility of operating and monitoring the program. On Tuesday, the department issued a work order to the coaching institute. In the first phase, nearly 300 students will benefit from the scheme, selected on the basis of academic merit and prescribed eligibility criteria.

Welfare Minister Shri Chandra Linda stated that providing opportunities and a proper platform for higher education to the youth of Jharkhand is a top priority of the government. He said, “Our aim is to ensure that talented students from Jharkhand reach premier institutions like IITs and AIIMS. It is the government’s duty to provide them with adequate resources and a supportive environment.”

He further emphasized that many bright students lag behind due to lack of resources and proper guidance. “We want to ensure that no poor student from Jharkhand returns home unemployed. Every child should return with confidence and success. This initiative will give new direction and energy to our youth,” the minister added.

Shri Linda, along with Welfare Commissioner Shri Kuldeep Chaudhary, inspected the hostel, library, and dining facilities, and directed officials to implement all necessary improvements. He also informed that the state government plans to send selected students to Delhi in the coming phases for UPSC and Civil Services coaching.

In the first phase, this scheme will benefit Scheduled Tribe (ST) students, followed by Scheduled Caste (SC) and later Other Backward Class (OBC) students.

Concluding his remarks, the minister said, “The government’s priority is to ensure that every meritorious student of Jharkhand gets an equal opportunity to develop their talent. There is no shortage of talent in Jharkhand — what’s needed is proper direction, opportunity, and resources. In this competitive era, we must empower our students with knowledge and guidance.”
