This year’s Durga Puja in Purulia town stood out for its cleanliness, safety, and smooth management — a result of the effective leadership and constant supervision of Municipal Chairman Nabendu Mahali.
Under Mahali’s direction, the Purulia Municipality carried out extensive pre- and post-puja cleanliness drives across all wards. His emphasis on planning and coordination ensured timely waste collection, proper drainage maintenance, and an overall hygienic environment during the festivities.
After the puja, Chairman Mahali personally visited and reviewed preparations at all major immersion points — Nutan Bandh, Bucha Bandh, Raja Bandh, Purnia Bandh, Dulmi Bandh, Poka Bandh, Moyra Bandh, and Bhutgoria Bandh. He monitored safety measures, lighting arrangements, and waste management operations, ensuring that the idol immersions were conducted in an orderly and eco-friendly manner.
Residents and local organizations lauded Nabendu Mahali’s hands-on leadership, saying that his proactive approach and meticulous planning made this year’s Durga Puja one of the cleanest and most well-managed celebrations Purulia has witnessed in recent years.
