DC Ajay Nath Jha Directs Immediate and Sensitive Action in POCSO Cases

 


Bokaro, Nov 7 – Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha chaired a review meeting at the Collectorate on Friday to assess pending cases under the POCSO Act. He instructed officials to act with utmost sensitivity and urgency to ensure timely justice for child victims.


The DC directed that all cases placed before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) be jointly reviewed under the chairmanship of the DC and SP, and that a common directive be issued accordingly. He cautioned that any lapse in such matters will not be tolerated and called for strong inter-departmental coordination for faster case disposal.


Emphasizing confidentiality, the DC said the identity of victims and their families must remain protected and that they should be covered under various government welfare schemes to support their rehabilitation and well-being.


He also instructed all office heads to ensure a safe and respectful work environment for women, directing that each office designate a woman nodal officer to monitor grievance redressal and workplace conduct.


The DC underlined the need for effective coordination among police, administration, health, social welfare, and DLSA for prompt and compassionate handling of POCSO cases.


The meeting was attended by DSP (HQ) Animesh Gupta, NDC Prabhash Dutta, DSO Shalini Khalkho, DSWO Suman Gupta, DPRO Ravi Kumar, Assistant Director (Social Security) Piyush, Assistant PRO Avinash Kumar Singh, DCP Officer Anita Jha, along with BDOs, COs, and other officials.
