A New Milestone in Women Empowerment: Tadasha Mishra Becomes Jharkhand’s Acting DGP



Ranchi::Friday marked a historic moment in the history of the Jharkhand Police when Mrs. Tadasha Mishra, a 1994-batch IPS officer, formally assumed charge as the Acting Director General of Police (DGP) of Jharkhand. This is the first time since the formation of the state that a woman IPS officer has been entrusted with the highest position in the state police department.


Mrs. Mishra officially took charge at the Police Headquarters in Ranchi, where officers and staff welcomed her warmly. Speaking on the occasion, she said that her top priority would be to make Jharkhand Police more people-oriented, sensitive, and technologically advanced.



After assuming charge, Mrs. Tadasha Mishra paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren at the Chief Minister’s Residential Office. The Chief Minister congratulated her on the new responsibility and extended his best wishes for strengthening law and order across the state.


The Chief Minister said that Tadasha Mishra’s appointment marks a proud moment in the history of Jharkhand Police. It not only serves as an inspiration for women officers but also reflects the growing participation of women in the state’s administrative leadership.


Senior officials from the Home Department and Police Headquarters were also present on the occasion.
