'Lahu Bolega' delegation submits three-point memorandum to Jharkhand Congress in-charge
Ranchi: Jharkhand Congress in-charge K. Raju has assured that the issues concerning the state's blood donation system and patients suffering from blood disorders are on his radar and that necessary steps will be taken to address them.
A six-member delegation of Lahu Bolega Blood Donation Organization, Ranchi, along with the Jharkhand Thalassemia, Sickle Cell Anaemia, Haemophilia and Aplastic Anaemia Patients' Association, met K. Raju at the State Guest House on Monday and submitted a three-point memorandum highlighting the challenges faced by blood donors and patients with blood disorders.
The delegation stated that on December 9, 2025, several key issues related to blood donation management, promotion of voluntary blood donation, and the welfare of patients suffering from thalassemia, sickle cell anaemia, haemophilia and aplastic anaemia were raised in the Jharkhand Assembly through a calling attention motion by Congress Legislature Party leader Pradeep Yadav. During the discussion, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari had assured the House that all the issues would be resolved within a month.
According to the delegation, nearly eight months have passed since the announcement, but none of the commitments have been implemented. Instead, the problems affecting the state's blood donation system and patients with blood disorders have continued to worsen.
The delegation also pointed out that Congress MLA Suresh Baitha and CPI(ML) Liberation MLA Arup Chatterjee had raised the matter twice in the Assembly in the presence of the Health Minister, yet no concrete action has been taken so far.
After going through the memorandum and interacting with the delegation, K. Raju sought details on several issues and assured them, saying, "The matter relating to Jharkhand's blood donation system and blood disorder patients is already on my radar. I understand the concerns and will take the necessary initiative."
Jharkhand Congress Media Coordinator Rakesh Sinha, Chief Spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo, and Dr. M. Tauseef were also present during the meeting.
The delegation comprised Nadeem Khan (blood donor activist), Sanjay Toppo (thalassemia caregiver), Sanjay Mahto (sickle cell caregiver), Jaynath Mahto (thalassemia caregiver), Engineer Shahnawaz Abbas (blood donor activist), and Mohd. Babbar (blood donor activist).
