BOKARO, AUGUST 27: In a special Raksha Bandhan eve gesture, as many as 3,20,026 women beneficiaries in Bokaro district received ₹2,500 each under the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana on Thursday. The assistance was directly transferred to their bank accounts.

Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha extended warm Raksha Bandhan greetings to all women of the district and said the festival was not only a celebration of the bond between brothers and sisters but also an occasion to reaffirm the dignity, rights and empowerment of women.

He said the financial assistance under the scheme was aimed at providing women with greater economic support, enabling them to meet their needs and move forward with confidence in their families and society.

The Deputy Commissioner said the transfer of the Samman Rashi on the eve of Raksha Bandhan would add to the festive joy of beneficiaries. He described the assistance as a symbol of the government’s respect, sensitivity and trust towards women.

Emphasising the importance of economic empowerment, Jha said women’s empowerment would become meaningful only when women were financially stronger and self-reliant.

With ₹2,500 reaching the accounts of 3,20,026 beneficiaries, the initiative has brought both festive cheer and additional financial support to women across Bokaro district.
