Ranchi: The Honorable Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mrs. Deepika Pandey Singh, reached the protest site in Ranchi and personally listened to the problems and concerns of the MGNREGA workers who were staging a demonstration. Hundreds of MGNREGA workers present at the site put forward their major demands in detail, including the determination of grade pay, regularization,
social security, a service protection policy, and the establishment of an appellate authority for transparent hearings in cases of dismissal.
The Honorable Minister assured the workers that every just and legally valid demand would be reviewed seriously and sensitively, and that the government would soon take concrete, positive, and fair decisions. She also clarified that the state government is working with full commitment to ensure the dignity, safety, rights, and justice of MGNREGA workers.
She said that the problems of MGNREGA workers, who are considered the backbone of rural India, are among the government’s top priorities and that their voices will not be ignored.
