Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday paid rich tributes to former state minister Mannan Mallik, who passed away earlier in the day after a prolonged illness. Accompanied by his wife and MLA Kalpana Soren, the Chief Minister visited the Jharkhand Assembly premises and laid a floral wreath on the mortal remains of the veteran leader.
Expressing profound grief over Mallik's demise, the Chief Minister prayed to Marang Buru for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family, supporters and well-wishers to endure the irreparable loss.
Remembering the late leader's contribution to public life, Hemant Soren said Mannan Mallik remained dedicated to public service for several decades and consistently raised the concerns of the people of Jharkhand, particularly those of Dhanbad. He described his demise as an irreparable loss to the state, stating that Jharkhand has lost an experienced public representative and a leader deeply committed to social causes. "His contribution to public life will always be remembered," the Chief Minister said.
CM Meets Bereaved Family
During the visit, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren also met the bereaved family members of the late Mannan Mallik and conveyed their heartfelt condolences, assuring them of their support during this difficult time.
Former Minister Mannan Mallik had been undergoing treatment for some time due to illness. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Ranchi on Tuesday morning. His passing has been widely mourned across political and social circles in Jharkhand.
