The Hot Strip Mill of Bokaro Steel Plant celebrated its 50th anniversary on 12 December 2025, marking five decades of significant contribution to BSL's production strength. A commemorative event was organised at the mill premises, where Executive Director (Works) Priya Ranjan led the celebrations.
Welcoming the gathering, Chief General Manager (HSM) P. K. Verma highlighted the unit’s journey, after which Priya Ranjan cut the anniversary cake and congratulated the entire HSM team. He praised the mill’s consistent performance, technical excellence and its role as a vital pillar in BSL’s operations.
Ranjan emphasised that over the past five decades, the Hot Strip Mill has not only enhanced BSL’s manufacturing capabilities but has also played a crucial role in meeting the nation's industrial and infrastructure needs through high-quality flat products. He commended the dedication, skill and teamwork of employees and contract workers who made this journey possible.
Executive Director (Operations) Anup Kumar Dutta also appreciated the team’s efforts, noting that the milestone reflects innovation, discipline and collective commitment.
Commissioned on 12 December 1975, the Hot Strip Mill continues to stand as one of BSL’s most significant production units, contributing to its growth over the last 50 years.
