Industries Minister Reviews Progress on Bokaro IMC Project

Ranchi: Industries Minister Sanjay Yadav chaired a high-level meeting on Friday at Nepal House, Doranda, to review the proposed Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) project under the Amritsar–Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC) in Bokaro.

The meeting was convened following a resolution raised in the Jharkhand Assembly by Bokaro MLA Shweta Singh, who had sought urgent intervention to revive the long-pending project.

Senior officials including the Director of Industries, Director of Land Records, MD of JIADA, officials from the urban administration, and A.K. Singh from Bokaro Steel Plant attended the review.

MLA Shweta Singh thanked the Minister for initiating prompt action and said the IMC project had remained stalled since 2021 due to land-related complications. She stressed the need for practical land valuation and faster decision-making to move the project forward.

A key outcome of the meeting was the decision that a state delegation will soon visit Delhi to meet the Union Steel Minister and Steel Secretary to accelerate the process at the central level.

MLA Singh highlighted the potential of the IMC project to generate more than 50,000 direct jobs and significant indirect employment, adding that it could play a transformative role in Jharkhand’s industrial growth.

Minister Yadav reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the project and said coordinated efforts with central authorities would ensure its timely execution.
