Positive Change Seen Among Students Through Government Schemes: CM's Message on Children’s Day



Ranchi:: On the occasion of Children’s Day, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren held an interactive session with UNICEF’s former child reporters and youth at the Chief Minister’s residential office located at Kanke Road, Ranchi. He extended his warm greetings and best wishes to all the children and youth present on the occasion of Children’s Day and Jharkhand Foundation Day.



The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand began its journey as a separate state 25 years ago, during which many of today’s youth were taking their first steps in childhood. He added that the state government is continuously expanding various schemes for the holistic development of the present and future generations, ensuring better direction, opportunities, and resources for them.
He emphasized that children and youth are the future of the state and the nation, and only by strengthening them in every aspect can the dream of a prosperous and developed Jharkhand be realized.



Scholarship and Educational Schemes Strengthening Students



The Chief Minister said that the government is running several ambitious schemes to provide financial support to students—from primary and middle school to those pursuing higher education in colleges.He said poverty has long been the biggest hurdle in children’s education, but the government has taken significant steps to remove this barrier, ensuring that no child is deprived of education due to financial constraints.



He informed that the state government has upgraded 80 government schools into CM Schools of Excellence, where quality education is being provided on the lines of private schools. He added that many more government schools will be brought under this initiative in the coming days, so that children in remote rural areas also receive better educational opportunities.



Schemes to be Expanded in Phases as Needed



The Chief Minister said that several schemes are being implemented to ensure the physical and mental well-being of school children, and these will continue to be expanded phase-wise as per future requirements.
He urged the youth and former child reporters present to help connect those children who are still deprived of the benefits of government schemes.



He further informed that the government felicitates the toppers of classes 10 and 12 every year and also provides laptops, mobile phones, and cash awards to meritorious students. Secretary of the Department of Women, Child Development and Social Security, Shri Manoj Kumar, was also present at the event.



Children Share Their Experiences and Benefits of Government Schemes



UNICEF’s former child reporters and girl students from KGBV and JBAV narrated their experiences to the Chief Minister. They explained how schemes like Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana, Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana, Summer Campaign, Gyan Setu, Guruji Credit Card Yojana, CM School of Excellence, Mukhyamantri Saarthi Yojana, MHM Labs, inclusion of eggs in the Mid-Day Meal, Eco Club, Clean & Green Campus, and Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar have played an important role in improving their education, health, nutrition, and overall development.Students shared that these schemes have brought significant relief not only to them but also to their families.



UNICEF Appreciates Government’s Efforts


UNICEF Jharkhand’s Chief, Dr. Kaninika Mitra, congratulated the Chief Minister on the completion of 25 years of Jharkhand’s formation and appreciated his commitment to the welfare of children and youth.She said that the Chief Minister’s presence in a youth-focused program highlights the state government’s dedication to ensuring opportunities for every child in Jharkhand.



UNICEF’s Communication, Advocacy & Partnership Specialist, Ms. Aastha Alang, said that the day is not only for looking back but also for looking forward to fulfilling the hopes and dreams of children. She emphasized that every child’s rights are important and that every child should receive the opportunity to achieve their dreams.

At the end of the interaction, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren expressed his delight in speaking with the child reporters and youth. He extended his best wishes once again for Children’s Day and Jharkhand Foundation Day and appreciated UNICEF Jharkhand for its efforts.
