Ranchi:: The CPI(M) State Committee, in its meeting held today, expressed deep concern over the conspiracy to create division between Adivasis and Kurmis on the basis of identity politics. The committee decided that the CPI(M) will launch a statewide campaign to safeguard the unity of farmers, youth, and working people in Jharkhand.
The meeting noted that one positive aspect of this situation is that large sections of both communities oppose such divisive politics. The Party is conducting active campaigns to build dialogue with these sections and defeat the conspiracy of division.
The State Committee also discussed the deteriorating condition of government blood banks and opposed the proposal to hand over six district hospitals under the PPP model. Serious concern was expressed over pollution, accidents, and loss of agricultural land caused by mining and mineral transportation in the Santhal Pargana and Kolhan regions. It was decided to conduct a survey of the affected areas, prepare a memorandum of demands, and launch a movement based on it.
The committee also resolved to campaign for the speedy disposal of pending mutation applications in revenue offices, issuance of receipts for non-major land, and action against corruption prevalent in revenue and block offices.
State Secretary Prakash Viplav said that Jharkhand’s diversity and social unity are its real strength. However, attempts to create divisions between the Adivasi and Kurmi communities in the name of identity politics will only weaken the state. The CPI(M) firmly opposes such divisive politics and will run a campaign to strengthen social unity through dialogue between both communities.
The meeting congratulated the Left Democratic Front government and the people of Kerala for their historic achievement in eradicating extreme poverty from the state. The CPI(M) decided that, in collaboration with other Left, progressive, and democratic organizations, it will launch a mass campaign in support of the “Kerala Model” from November 7 (Socialist Revolution Day) to November 15 (Jharkhand Foundation Day). During this period, public meetings, seminars, discussions, and symposiums will be organized.
The meeting was presided over by Surjit Sinha, and members of the State Committee were present.
