Ranchi: Paras HEC Hospital, HEC, has achieved a major medical milestone. Doctors successfully removed a massive seven-kilogram ovarian tumor from the abdomen of a 70-year-old woman, giving her a new lease on life.
The woman, who came from a remote rural area near Jamshedpur, had been suffering from abdominal swelling and loss of appetite for a long time. After being admitted to Paras Hospital, she underwent a series of detailed examinations. A CT scan led by Dr. Abhinav Shekhar of the hospital’s Cancer Surgery Department revealed a large ovarian tumor in her abdomen.
Subsequently, a complex surgical procedure was carried out, during which the seven-kilogram tumor was safely removed. The surgery was successful, and the patient recovered rapidly. She was discharged on the fourth day after the operation. At present, she is completely healthy, eating normally, and able to perform her daily activities on her own.
Dr. Nitesh Kumar, Facility Director of Paras HEC Hospital, stated that the hospital’s advanced surgical technology and comprehensive cancer care facilities are bringing world-class healthcare even to patients from the most remote regions of the state. “All types of cancer-related treatments are being provided under one roof,” he added.
