An Example of Human Service: CPI(M) Leaders Decide to Donate Bodies Posthumously




Ranchi: Setting an inspiring example in the field of human service and medical research, CPI(M) state secretary Prakash Viplav, secretariat member Sameer Das, state committee member Amal Pandey, and Virendra Kumar have completed the process to donate their bodies after death.On this occasion, all the leaders also obtained consent from their families.
Earlier, the leaders had announced organ donation as well and received certificates for the same from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.



The process was carried out at the Body Donation Unit of the Anatomy Department, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, under the initiative of Jharkhand Science Forum, Ranchi unit, in the presence of Head of Department Dr. D. Kumar. After filling out the prescribed forms, Dr. Kumar registered them in the unit and congratulated the donors.

Prakash Viplav said, “The greatest duty of a human being is humanity. If our bodies can be used to save someone’s life or contribute to the progress of science, there is no greater virtue. I appeal to everyone to come forward for organ and body donation.”


Sameer Das said, “Body donation is a social responsibility. We have taken this step so that future generations can become better doctors and healthcare services become more accessible in society.”


Amal Pandey said, “Body donation will give a new direction to medical education. We take pride in being able to serve society even after our lives end.”


Virendra Kumar said, “Death is not an end, but another opportunity to serve. I hope this initiative will inspire the youth of Jharkhand.”


S. Ramesh and Kishore Chakravarti of Jharkhand Science Forum said, “Our goal is to raise awareness about body and organ donation in society so that more people join this humanitarian initiative.”


Dr. D. Kumar, Head of the Anatomy Department at RIMS, said, “Body donation greatly aids medical students in practical learning and research. Additionally, it gives new life to those in need through organ transplantation.” He appreciated the initiative by the Jharkhand Science Forum and assured full support.
