Bokaro DC Highlights Respect for Sanitation Workers During Cleanliness Drive

 


Bokaro, Sept 25 – Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha on Thursday led the “One Day–One Hour–Together” cleanliness campaign under the Namami Gange programme. He reminded participants that true cleanliness means removing not just dirt from streets but also negativity from within, and urged citizens to honour sanitation workers as society’s silent heroes.


At the Collectorate, DC Jha along with Deputy Development Commissioner Shatabdi Majumdar, DPLR Menka and other officials took part in cleaning activities. Similar drives were carried out in subdivision and block offices.


At Amrit Park near Garga Bridge, the DC administered the Swachhata Pledge to officials, employees, students and social organisations, encouraging each to motivate 100 others to devote 100 hours annually to cleanliness.


The campaign saw enthusiastic participation from Additional Collector Mohd Mumtaz Ansari, Additional Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar, NDC Prabhash Dutta, DSO Shalini Khalkho, DPRO Ravi Kumar, APRO Avinash Kumar Singh, CRPF Bokaro Unit, Chas Municipal Corporation, schools, NGOs and citizens.
