Ranchi: A student convention was organised by the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) at Satya Bharti Hall on Monday, focusing on the state of education in Jharkhand, problems faced by students and the need for reforms in the education sector.
The convention’s main speaker and SFI National Secretary Aishe Ghosh expressed concern over the present state of education in Jharkhand. She stressed the need to make education accessible, quality-oriented and equitable for all students. She also emphasised the importance of collective efforts to safeguard students’ rights and strengthen the education system.
SFI Jharkhand State Convenor Danish announced that the organisation would launch a ‘Save Schools Campaign’ from September. The campaign will highlight the condition of government schools, lack of basic facilities, problems faced by students and issues related to the Right to Education.
SFI Ranchi Convenor Fiza, along with Ojaswi Raj, Faizan Khan, Soma, Jyoti, Ravi and Faraz Abbas, besides a large number of students and activists, attended the convention.
SFI leaders said the organisation would intensify its campaign in the coming days to strengthen the education system in Jharkhand and protect students’ rights. The campaign will focus on highlighting problems in government schools and raising issues concerning students and the Right to Education.
