Ranchi: A free health check-up camp was organised at Jharkhand Haj House, Kadru, Ranchi, on Saturday for needy and local residents. Around 300 people underwent free health check-ups during the camp and were provided medical advice and medicines free of cost, wherever required.
A medical team comprising around 10 doctors and nearly 20 healthcare personnel provided their services at the camp. Doctors including Dr Syed Ejaz Hashmi, Dr Mohammad Khurshid, Dr Abdul Moez, Dr Mohammad Saifullah Islam, Dr M.D. Saif-ul-Islam, Dr Javed Anwar, Dr Syed Musab Hussain, Dr Danish Haleem, Dr Saba Iqbal and Dr Saman Haleem, along with Mohammad Saeed, Harshita Kumari and other healthcare workers, attended the camp.
The camp included check-ups for blood pressure, blood sugar, general health and eye-related problems. People requiring spectacles were also identified during the eye examinations. Patients were provided appropriate medical consultation and free medicines according to their requirements.
Iqbal Engineer played an important role in organising the health camp. His cooperation and efforts contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Samdani, Joint Secretary of the Jharkhand State Haj Committee, said that the Haj House is not limited to providing facilities to Haj pilgrims but will also continue to work for the welfare of the general public.
He said similar free health check-up camps would be organised at the Haj House every 15 days so that poor and needy people could avail themselves of essential healthcare services free of cost.
Samdani said the main objective of the initiative was to take healthcare facilities to economically weaker sections of society. He added that various public welfare programmes would continue to be organised at the Haj House in the future.
A large number of people participated in the camp and availed themselves of the free medical services. The beneficiaries appreciated the initiative and expressed the need for such health camps to be organised regularly.
