Ranchi:: The Panch Pargana unit of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) organized a program on the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti, drawing participation from a large number of students.
The event commenced with floral tributes to the statue of Dr. Ambedkar by senior member Ramdhan Machhua. The program was presided over by unit convener Jagmohan Munda and conducted by Ranjit Kumar Modak.
Addressing the gathering, Town Committee convener Sukeshi Karmakar highlighted the life and ideals of Dr. Ambedkar and urged students to follow his path. She emphasized that the true tribute to him lies in continuing the struggle for social justice and equality.
Former Central Committee member Ranjit Kumar Modak, who also conducted the program, stressed the relevance of Dr. Ambedkar’s guiding principle—“Educate, Organize and Agitate”—and called upon students to adopt it in their lives.
SFI District Observer Aman Kumar shared his suggestions for strengthening the organization. Students present at the event also expressed their views on education, student rights, and organizational growth.
During the meeting, it was unanimously decided that a delegation would meet the Vice-Chancellor of Ranchi University to raise issues related to delayed academic sessions and the demand for student union elections. It was also resolved to submit a memorandum to the Welfare Department seeking a tribal women’s hostel and scholarships at Panch Pargana College.
The organization further decided to launch a membership drive across colleges to strengthen its base.
Among those present were Jagmohan Munda, Diya Chandra Dev, Khushboo Kumari, Sukeshi Karmakar, Faizan Khan, Ravi Kumar, Neelam Sardar, Subhadra Kumari, Jitendra Munda and several other students.
