Chas, September 12: Questions over workplace conduct at Chas Municipal Corporation have brought the functioning and discipline of the civic body into focus after a computer operator was suspended over alleged misconduct on the office premises.
The action followed information circulated through social media regarding the alleged consumption and presence of liquor inside an office room. Taking cognisance of the matter, the corporation sought an explanation from computer operator Ashok Kumar Das on September 9.
According to the suspension order, the explanation furnished by the employee was not found satisfactory. Additional Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar subsequently ordered his suspension with immediate effect, demonstrating a prompt administrative response to the reported irregularity.
The development has once again put the spotlight on discipline and accountability within Chas Municipal Corporation, with the immediate action by the Additional Municipal Commissioner drawing attention to the need for strict adherence to workplace norms.
