Ranchi: The Central Committee of CPI(ML) has launched a nationwide campaign from March 23 to March 31 against what it termed as the war imposed on Iran by the United States and Israel. As part of the campaign, a protest programme was organized at Albert Ekka Chowk in Ranchi on Monday under the leadership of Central Committee member Comrade Shubhendu Sen.
Addressing the gathering, speakers condemned the actions of the US and Israel, stating that the alleged war on Iran has drawn criticism across the world. They also expressed concern over the absence of a clear and strong statement from the Prime Minister of India on the issue.
The speakers further claimed that the ongoing conflict has adversely impacted the economy, leading to rising gas prices, fuel shortages and increasing inflation in the country. They urged the Prime Minister to take a firm stand and join global efforts to press for an end to the war.
The protest also called for India to adopt an independent and balanced foreign policy and to stand against what they described as “aggressive actions” by the US and Israel.
Among those present were Mahavir Munda, Ajay Lakra, Naseem Khan, Jagarnath Oraon, Akram, Mujahideen Islam, Firoz Ansari, Sudama Khalkho, Kumar Varun, Bhim Sahu, Mewa Lakra, Geeta Tirkey, Sumi Oraon, Meena and Nandita Bhattacharya, among others.
