Governor and CM Pay Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Vatika




Ranchi: Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Vatika in Morabadi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

The Governor and Chief Minister garlanded the statue of the Father of the Nation and paid their heartfelt respects.



Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said Gandhi Jayanti is an important day in the history of India that can never be forgotten. He said the country is remembering two great personalities on their birth anniversaries and, as in previous years, people have gathered to pay their respects.




Soren said India has a unique place in world history, with great personalities who were born here and guided the nation. “We are moving forward with their ideals,” he said, adding that it is a matter of pride that such great personalities lived among us and their thoughts will continue to remain alive in people's hearts.



The Chief Minister said Mahatma Gandhi's thoughts and philosophy of life would continue to guide humanity for generations. He said the state government is committed to the welfare and overall development of people at the last mile by following the principles and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.




Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and said his message of truth, non-violence, cleanliness and humanity remains relevant even today. He said Gandhi's thoughts and ideals continue to inspire society towards peace, harmony and nation-building. He also appealed to people to follow Gandhian ideals in their daily lives.



MP Sanjay Seth, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, MLA Kalpana Soren, senior administrative officials and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. The Bapu Vatika premises resonated with devotional songs dear to Mahatma Gandhi and patriotic melodies.
