Ranchi: Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren,
along with MLA Smt. Kalpana Soren, today
paid heartfelt tributes to Amar Veer Martyr Nirmal Mahto, a leading figure of the Jharkhand movement, by offering floral wreaths at his statue located at Jail More, Ranchi, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Addressing media representatives on the occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the day holds great significance for the state. Today marks the 75th birth anniversary of Veer Martyr Nirmal Mahto, a prominent leader of the Jharkhand movement who fought tirelessly for the rights of the state’s tribal and indigenous communities. As every year, people across the state are remembering him with deep respect and reverence.
The Chief Minister said that 25 years have passed since the formation of Jharkhand, and the presence of such brave sons in the state’s history is a matter of pride for all. Martyr Nirmal Mahto made an invaluable and unforgettable contribution to the Jharkhand statehood movement. By embracing his ideals and thoughts, the state continues to move steadily on the path of progress.
He further stated that at the time of his martyrdom, Nirmal Mahto was very young. Today, the youth of the state regard him as their guide and source of inspiration. Every young citizen of the state takes pride in his struggle and sacrifice. In the times to come as well, all the people of Jharkhand will continue to move forward by keeping his thoughts and ideals alive, working collectively for a brighter future of the state.
