Ranchi: On the instructions of Hon’ble Governor Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, a “Blood Donation Maha Yagya” will be organized by Lok Bhawan on January 12, 2026, on the occasion of National Youth Day. Preparations for the event were reviewed today during a meeting of the Indian Red Cross Society, Jharkhand State Branch, held at Lok Bhawan.
During the meeting, the Hon’ble Governor’s Additional Chief Secretary, Dr. Nitin Kulkarni, stated that the Governor’s objective is to ensure adequate availability of blood in the state’s blood banks so that needy patients can receive blood in a timely manner. He emphasized that the event will not only serve as a significant humanitarian initiative but will also strengthen the spirit of service, compassion, and social responsibility among the youth.
Dr. Kulkarni directed that all universities and colleges in Ranchi, local battalions of the Army, local units of paramilitary forces, Jharkhand Armed Forces, NCC units, and NSS wings of colleges be actively involved in the Blood Donation Maha Yagya. He also instructed that the Jharkhand State AIDS Control Society, along with social and voluntary organizations actively engaged in blood donation in Ranchi, be included in the event.
Special emphasis was laid on better coordination among all district branches of the Indian Red Cross Society. It was also decided that all blood donors participating in the camp would be felicitated. Furthermore, efforts will be made to ensure the participation of as many blood centers as possible so that a larger number of needy patients can benefit.
The “Blood Donation Maha Yagya” will be organized at Birsa Mandap, located within the Lok Bhawan premises.
