Bokaro: Emphasising the lasting significance of books in the digital era, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha on Tuesday said that the depth, discipline, and reflective learning offered by reading cannot be replaced by digital platforms. He was addressing a press conference to unveil the Bokaro Shabd Sarita Festival 2026.
The district-level literary and cultural festival will be held from January 7 to 8, 2026 at Shibu Soren Memorial Bhawan (Town Hall). The press conference took place at the Collectorate Auditorium in the presence of Deputy Development Commissioner Shatabdi Mazumdar.
Calling the festival a step towards strengthening Bokaro’s literary culture, the DC urged citizens to make reading and writing a daily habit. He said the event aims to reconnect people with literature and ideas while providing a platform for writers, poets, and publishers from the district and the state.
The two-day festival will feature literary discussions, poetry sessions, and cultural programmes. Deputy Development Commissioner Shatabdi Mazumdar said all arrangements are underway and noted that several eminent writers and reputed publishing houses are expected to participate.
