Deputy Commissioner Bokaro Ajay Nath Jha on Wednesday took a decisive step towards establishing the district’s first Press Club by initiating the formation of an ad hoc committee. The move was unanimously agreed upon during an interaction session convened by the DC with working journalists.
The proposed Press Club is envisaged as a well-equipped professional space with facilities such as working stations, resting rooms, a restaurant, and other essential amenities required for journalists. The initiative is expected to provide a structured platform for the media fraternity in the district.
DC Ajay Nath Jha emphasised the importance of institutional support for journalists and assured proactive involvement of the district administration in shaping the Press Club in a systematic manner.
Journalists present expressed appreciation for the long-awaited initiative and thanked the DC for taking concrete steps in this direction. District Public Relations Officer Ravi Kumar and Assistant Public Relations Officer Avinash Kumar were also present during the meeting.
The interaction marked a positive beginning towards strengthening media infrastructure and coordination in Bokaro.
