Bokaro: Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma visited Bokaro on December 29 as part of a one-day tour. He was received at Bokaro Airport by Bokaro Steel Plant Director In-Charge Priya Ranjan along with senior executives, followed by a Guard of Honour by CISF at Bokaro Niwas.
During the visit, the Minister inaugurated the Provincial Tribal Sports Meet organised by Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, emphasising the importance of sports in building discipline, confidence, and holistic development among tribal youth.
In a brief interaction with the media, Varma stated that the expansion of Bokaro Steel Plant is under active consideration at the Centre, reiterating the government’s commitment to strengthening the plant’s capacity and supporting regional industrial growth.
Later, a presentation at Bokaro Niwas outlined the plant’s production performance, ongoing initiatives, and proposed projects. Senior BSL officials were present. The Minister departed Bokaro later in the day, concluding his one-day visit.
