Massive Congress outreach rally led by Bandhu Tirkey draws overwhelming public response
Congress showcases strength in Ghatshila by-election, confident of Somesh Soren’s victory
Ranchi: In the run-up to the Ghatshila by-election, the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee launched an intensive public outreach campaign under the leadership of its Working President Bandhu Tirkey. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior Congress leaders, including Lal Kishornath Shahdeo, Chief Spokesperson of the State Congress; Dr. M. Tauseef, Member of the Minority Commission; Shantanu Mishra, State Spokesperson; and senior party leaders Ashok Chaudhary, Rakesh Tiwari, and L. B. Singh.
As part of the campaign, the leaders, along with block-level Congress officials in Dhalbhumgarh, organized a motorcycle rally in support of the alliance candidate Somesh Soren. They also visited several areas, including Musabani, to connect directly with voters and highlight the government’s welfare initiatives.
Speaking to the media, Bandhu Tirkey said that the coalition government in Jharkhand has implemented several people-centric schemes that have brought visible benefits to common citizens. He recalled the contribution of the late Ramdas Soren, father of Somesh Soren, saying that his efforts had played a pivotal role in the region’s development — the impact of which is still evident today in both rural and urban areas.
Appealing to voters, Tirkey urged them to ensure Somesh Soren’s victory by a huge margin. “The people of Ghatshila have already made up their minds — Somesh Soren’s victory is certain. Now, only the formal announcement remains,” he said confidently.
Taking aim at the BJP, Tirkey remarked, “The BJP is contesting this election merely for formality. On the ground, it stands no chance against the alliance candidate.”
He added that the people of Ghatshila would pay a true tribute to the late Ramdas Soren by electing Somesh Soren with an overwhelming mandate.
