Three-day conference brings together over 300 pediatricians from across India; discussions highlight innovation, technology, and child health awareness
Ranchi::The 24th Jharkhand Pedicon, organized by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), Ranchi Branch, concluded successfully on Sunday at Vinayak Eco Resort, Ormanjhi. The three-day event brought together around 300 pediatricians from across India to deliberate on the latest trends, research, and technologies in child healthcare.
The conference featured sessions on neonatal infections, child nutrition, mental health, and advances in vaccination and medical technology. Experts discussed practical solutions for improving pediatric care, especially in rural and semi-urban regions.
Senior pediatrician Dr. Sunita Katyayani was felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her remarkable contribution to child medicine.
Experts Applaud Jharkhand’s Healthcare Progress
Speaking at the event, Dr. Rajesh Kumar (Balpan), Secretary of IAP Ranchi, said:
Jharkhand is progressing rapidly in pediatric healthcare. Our doctors are adopting new technologies and ensuring modern treatments reach rural areas. Conferences like Pedicon provide a platform for sharing experiences and learning from global practices.”
He added that Jharkhand is preparing to play a leading role in advancing child healthcare services in the coming years.
Dr. Prashant Sabot praised the state’s improving health infrastructure:
Remarkable progress has been made in child health services. The combined efforts of the government and healthcare professionals are setting new benchmarks. Jharkhand will soon be recognized as a model state for pediatric care.”
Delivering a lecture on Pediatric Bone Disorders, Dr. Rajat Malot from Jaipur said:
“Many childhood bone diseases are treatable, but lack of awareness delays treatment. Community education is essential to bridge this gap.”
Focus on Technology and Research
National IAP leaders, including Dr. Basant Kaltkar (President) and Dr. Neelam Mohan (President-Elect), emphasized integrating technology, AI, and research into pediatric practice. Dr. Mohan noted that innovation and digital tools will redefine the future of child healthcare in India.
The event was successfully organized under the guidance of Dr. P.K. Gupta (President, IAP Ranchi), Dr. Rajeev Mishra, Dr. Shailesh Chandra, Dr. Shyam Sidana, Dr. Anitabh Kumar, Dr. Parmanand Kashi, and Dr. Kiran Shankar Das.
