Ranchi: A review meeting of the family planning program was chaired by Dr. Pushpa, State Nodal Officer (Family Planning). The meeting was attended by the district ACMO, District Program
Officer, and District Accounts Manager.
Dr. Pushpa reviewed the progress of ongoing campaigns aimed at raising awareness about the importance of family planning at the community level. She stated that using local initiatives such as Sarathi Vans and Saas-Bahu-Pati Conferences would further accelerate family planning programs. The meeting also emphasized ensuring that all available family planning services and resources are easily accessible to rural
and underprivileged populations.
The status of incentive payments to beneficiaries under programs like the Antra scheme was also discussed. Dr. Pushpa highlighted the need to improve family welfare and health services and achieve set targets on time.
Deputy Director (Health Services), Dr. Lal Manjhi, stressed the importance of training health workers so that they can provide accurate information and counseling on various family planning methods. He added that the progress of monitoring supplies and services is being reviewed through the Family Planning Logistics
& Management Information System (FP-LIMS) portal.
The meeting focused on ensuring the availability and accessibility of both permanent and temporary family planning methods, including sterilization, IUCDs, Antra injections, and contraceptive pills.
State Coordinator (Family Planning),
Mrs. Gunjan Khalkho, emphasized special efforts to raise awareness about family planning among youth, adolescents, and marginalized communities. She further stated that health worker training will be strengthened to improve service quality and create a positive environment for adopting family planning practices in the community.
The meeting marks an important step toward the smooth implementation of family planning programs and the achievement of their objectives.
The review meeting was also attended by Mrs. Suchandra Panda (Training Consultant), Mr. Naval Kishore Yadav, Mr. Rohit Kumar, and other officials.
