Bokaro: Ahead of the Mahaparv Chhath, the district administration is in full preparation mode to ensure cleanliness, safety, and a devotional atmosphere across all ghats. On Tuesday evening, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha and Deputy Development Commissioner Shatabdi Majumdar, along with senior officials, conducted an extensive inspection of various Chhath Ghats across Bokaro Steel City and Chas Municipal areas.
The inspection team reviewed cleanliness, illumination, drinking water, and safety arrangements at ghats including Two Tank Pond (Sector 3), Cooling Pond (Sector 9), Surya Mandir Sarovar (Sector 4F), Pandey Pul Ghat, and Solangdih Ghat.
The DC directed that all ghats be cleaned and leveled immediately, stressing that Chhath is not just a festival but a reflection of faith and culture. He instructed BSL, Chas Municipal Corporation, Phusro Municipal Council, and all BDOs and COs to intensify the cleanliness drive and inspect ghats within their areas, sharing updates through the official WhatsApp group.
Emphasizing safety, the DC ordered that bamboo barricades and ropes be installed to create safety zones, and life jackets and boats be kept ready at each ghat. “Ensuring the safety of every devotee is our top priority,” he said.
The DC further remarked that Chhath represents devotion and collective responsibility. Every officer should treat it not just as duty but as a service to faith and humanity.
The inspection team included Additional Collector Md. Mumtaz Ansari, Additional Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar, SDO Chas Pranjal Dhanda, DPRO Ravi Kumar, NDC Prabhash Dutta, BDO Chas Dr. Pradeep Kumar, CO Chas Seva Ram, DDMO Shakti Kumar, APRO Avinash Kumar Singh, and representatives of BSL.
