BSL Ensures Best Medical Support for Injured Workers; Experts from Rourkela and Bhilai Join Treatment at BGH

 



Bokaro, Sept 29: Following the unfortunate incident at BSL’s SMS-2 unit on September 28, in which three contract workers sustained burn injuries, the management has moved swiftly to ensure the best possible medical care for the affected workers.

On Monday morning, Dr. Girija Shankar Sahu, a renowned specialist from Ispat General Hospital, Rourkela, was flown to Bokaro by a special aircraft arranged by BSL. He is working closely with Dr. Anindo Mandal, Head of the Burns and Plastic Surgery Department at BGH, to provide expert treatment to the patients.

Further strengthening the medical team, Dr. Uday Kumar, Head of the Burn Unit at JLN Hospital & Research Centre, Bhilai Steel Plant, is reaching Bokaro on Monday evening to extend his expertise and support to BGH doctors.

Additionally the investigation front, BSL ED (Works) Priya Ranjan informed that a preliminary committee has already been constituted, and the affected area has been barricaded to ensure safety and facilitate assessment. He further stated that the exact cause of the incident is under examination, and a detailed conclusion will be shared once the inquiry is completed.

Demonstrating its commitment to safety and welfare, Bokaro Steel management has already set up a three-member committee to investigate the incident. The management reaffirmed that it stands firmly beside the injured workers and their families, ensuring every possible medical facility is made available. COC M.K. Dhan also underlined that BSL has taken prompt steps and is leaving no stone unturned to provide the finest treatment and care to the workers.
