Tampering with the Future of Boxing Players Will Be Costly – Ghulam Javed

Ranchi :: Treasurer and Media In-charge of Ranchi District Boxing Association, Ghulam Javed, issued a press statement alleging that some individuals are trying to mislead the sport of boxing and its players for their personal gain. He said such people are playing with the future of players. In this regard, the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has also issued a notification.

Javed clarified that the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) is the only recognized body for boxing in the country. The Jharkhand Boxing Association and Ranchi District Boxing Association are its affiliated units. These bodies are also recognized by the World Boxing Association, the Jharkhand Olympic Association, and the Sports Authority of India. Therefore, if any other unauthorized organization conducts boxing tournaments, it will be held fully responsible for jeopardizing the careers of boxers.

He further stated that those who are currently calling themselves the president and secretary of a so-called Jharkhand Boxing Association were earlier secretaries of the Ranchi District Boxing Association. They were accused of fraudulently taking money to allow players from outside Jharkhand to compete, while depriving local boxers of their right to play. As a result, the Jharkhand Boxing Association blacklisted and banned such individuals. Even women players from Haryana had issued public statements in this matter, which were published in newspapers at the time.

Javed alleged that these same individuals are now misusing the name of a defunct, unrecognized body. He warned that no office bearer, coach, or player of the Ranchi District Boxing Association should participate in the unauthorized Boxing Pro League scheduled in Ranchi on October 3. If anyone is found participating, it will be considered an act against the Jharkhand Boxing Association and Ranchi District Boxing Association, and strict action will be taken immediately.
