PLVs Trained on Land Literacy: “Land Disputes Are the Root of Criminal Conflicts,” Says Rajkamal Mishra


Ranchi::(Lohardaga) In a joint initiative by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Lohardaga and the Gram Niyojan Kendra, a one-day training session was organized on Module 1 of Land Literacy for 47 Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs). The event was held at the conference hall of the Civil Court premises.The training was formally inaugurated by Principal District & Sessions Judge cum DLSA Chairman Rajkamal Mishra, DLSA Secretary Rajesh Kumar, LADCS Assistant Indrani Kujur, and Gram Niyojan Kendra’s representative Ishteyaq Ahmed through a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. During the session Ishteyaq Ahmed provided detailed insights on various aspects of land-related matters in Jharkhand. Topics covered included types of land, basic understanding of land ownership, essential documents related to land (including Register-II and Kewala), required papers during registration, the structure of revenue courts, and the process of mutation post land registration.
To facilitate easy understanding, key information was also presented through street plays and dramatized performances, making the session more engaging and accessible.
In his opening address, PDJ and DLSA Chairman Rajkamal Mishra expressed hope that with this training, PLVs would be better equipped to assist in resolving ground-level land disputes. He emphasized that most criminal conflicts have underlying roots in land disputes, and empowering PLVs could play a key role in early resolution and legal awareness.
Throughout the session, several queries from the participants were addressed by DLSA Secretary Rajesh Kumar and Deputy Chief Umesh Kumar.
