Ranchi: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) will hold protests at all block headquarters across Jharkhand from September 1 to 15, raising key demands including the formation of a Displacement Commission, cancellation of the Land Bank, correction of digital land records, implementation of PESA regulations, and the appointment of 2,742 candidates in the education department.
The decision was taken during a two-day state committee meeting of the party, chaired by Surjeet Sinha. Addressing the meeting, Tapan Sen, Polit Bureau member and newly appointed Jharkhand in-charge, said recent nationwide agitations by workers and farmers have scripted a new chapter of resistance against the unholy nexus of communal and corporate forces exploiting the country’s natural resources

The CPM state committee condemned the BJP and its allies for disrupting the recent assembly session over the RIMS-2 hospital project and the encounter killing of Surya Hansda, terming it a "political drama." The party stated that if local landholders (raiyats) oppose the RIMS-2 project, it should be relocated.
The committee expressed concern over Hansda’s death in a police encounter, calling it unjustified, and criticized the BJP for glorifying the incident as political opportunism, despite a CID investigation being ordered.

The meeting also discussed growing pollution, deteriorating agriculture, and increasing accidents in Pakur and Dumka districts due to rampant coal transportation. The party emphasized the need for urgent and effective intervention.
State Secretary Prakash Viplav reiterated demands for the immediate initiation of the Displacement Commission and the notification to abolish the Land Bank, stressing that the protection of land, forests, and water must be the top priority of the Jharkhand government.
