Ranchi: A membership induction programme of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Indian National Congress, was organized at the Congress headquarters on Saturday. The programme was attended by State Co-Incharge Bhupendra Maravi, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Keshav Mahto Kamlesh and NSUI Jharkhand State President Binay Oraon as chief guests. The programme was presided over by Ranchi University President Advocate Kaif Ali.
During the programme, Talha Afroz, Chand Ansari, Nishchal Soy and Augustine Deep Ekka formally joined NSUI. Hundreds of students also took membership of the organization and pledged to strengthen student welfare, the right to education and democratic values.
On the occasion, State General Secretaries Shiv Kumar Bhagat, Suryakant Shukla, Suren Ram and Sunil Singh, former General Secretary Surendra Singh, NSUI State General Secretary Pawan Nag, Ranchi Metropolitan President Satish Keshari, Ranchi University General Secretary Shadman Khan, Doranda College President Ilyas Ansari and Secretary Jameel Akhtar were also present.
Among those who joined the organization were Rehan Gaddi, Danish Shah Faiz, Shadab Khan, Anas Khan, Akmal Gaddi, Asim Raza, Kaif Gaddi, Andy Samuel, Arib Ali, Ozaifa Gaddi, Kamran Ansari, Asad Khan, Md. Adil, Shahid Ali, Jordan Kerketta, Rohan Tirkey, Anshul Ekka, Dharmesh Munda, Anshu Khan, Tanzil Alam, Deepak Marandi, Sonu Rahman and Hamza Khan along with a large number of students.
Addressing the gathering, Bhupendra Maravi said that NSUI works to promote the ideology of the Constitution, equal opportunity and student empowerment. JPCC President Keshav Mahto Kamlesh said that youth determine the direction of the nation and NSUI provides a strong platform for students’ voices.
NSUI State President Binay Oraon said that the large participation of students reflects growing awareness among youth regarding education, employment and student rights. Ranchi University President Advocate Kaif Ali said that joining NSUI is not merely becoming a member of an organization, but becoming part of an ideology where student welfare remains the top priority and struggle becomes the medium for change.
