Ranchi/Deoghar:Jharkhand Cabinet Minister Deepika Pandey and her mother, senior Jharkhand movement activist Pratibha Pandey, were felicitated at a programme organised under the leadership of Raju Mahto, president of the Jharkhand Andolankari Mahasabha. The event focused on the dignity, identity and rights of movement activists, with speakers urging the government to address their long-pending issues and ensure due recognition.
Laxmi Devi, who was present on the occasion, lauded the contributions of the agitators to the Jharkhand movement and stressed the need for unity to safeguard their rights. She called for a stronger collective voice to secure justice and respect for the activists.
Among those present were Mahasabha vice-president Kishore Kisko, women’s convenor Vinita Khalkho, Israr Ahmad, Aaron Kachhap, Parveen Sahay, Sita Oraon and Rodan Oraon, along with several other members. Speakers recalled the pivotal role played by agitators in the statehood movement and reiterated their commitment to protecting their dignity and rights.
Participants unanimously appreciated the contributions of the activists and emphasised the need for concrete measures in their favour. They asserted that the struggle would continue until the agitators receive their rightful recognition and respect.
